New York’s Roseland Ballroom
New York City is one of the most visited cities in the world, and with some very good reasons. Year after year, and generation after generation, the people who live here continue to reinvent the city, to make it something that lives up to its previous reputations, and makes room for the next generation. The ingenuity of the artists, engineers, scientists, politicians, and laborers who spend their lives here, is what makes the city great, from one borough to the next. There are always a thousand things to do in NYC, at any time, and almost on any given block. But there are many times when you’re here, for business or for fun, when you need to be in a few places on any given day, and for this, we recommend New York City car hire.
This is an easy answer to your transportation needs, and for those who need to be everywhere at once, it saves time, hassle, and money. There are many times when visitors here need to be in Manhattan in the morning to meet breakfast with a friend, do a business appointment with a co-worker in Brooklyn in the afternoon, and meet friends of family in Long Island in the evening. When the itinerary is complicated, having your own transportation makes everything much easier. There are so many fantastic places to see in New York, that it’s impossible to see them all, but with a car, it’s easier to try.
One of the great places in the city to see a live concert is the Roseland Ballroom. Like everything else here, it has a complicated history, with a lot of twists and turns. It was originally opened in Philadelphia by Louis Brecker in 1917. The financial backer for it was the founder of Pennsylvania’s Yuengleng beer, which is still in operation as well. It moved to Manhattan in 1919, until it was torn down in 1956 and moved to its current 52nd Street location, which is a renovated skating rink. It has seen a number of jazz greats over the years, and today it’s got one of the best reputations in town for the bigger names in punk and alternative rock music. Bands like Nirvana, Portishead, and the Ramones all played at the Roseland, and there also lots of celebrity events, fashion shows, and even more family-oriented fare. It’s worth checking out!
