The best theme park experience is going to be the result not just of careful planning and attitude, but also of countless hours of safety precautions. While theme parks themselves do most of the work to ensure guest safety , it’s up to every visitor to do their part as well.
Parks spend thousands of dollars and hours ensuring that their rides, food, and overall environment is safe for guest enjoyment. The reason that there isn’t a Disney World accident in the news every day is that parks constantly inspect their rides and vehicles and provide extensive safety training to both maintenance crews and ride attendants.
It is not enough, however, to rely on the parks to keep a family safe. Each individual needs to do what they can to ensure their own safety. They accomplish this first and foremost by following every safety guideline provided by the park, no matter how silly or inconvenient it may seem. This includes not going on rides with certain health conditions and obeying “keep out” signs in areas that seem to be harmless. Visitors also have the responsibility to protect themselves from sun and heat injuries , and to guard against exhaustion and other conditions that could put not only themselves, but those around them at risk.
It is the partnership of park and guest each doing their best that ensures that the overwhelming percentage of park visitors have a safe and entertaining experience.
