Chicago is a beautiful city and it is particularly beautiful during the holidays. I have not been in Chicago during a holiday season for many years. Having moved away after college and being so busy in general I just never seem to get back there. With a new girl friend and the relationship getting very serious I am thinking I need to take her to Chicago this holiday season and surprise her with an engagement ring.
I made reservations for a suite at luxury hotels Chicago for the second weekend in December. I really wanted to make the entire trip a surprise for her, but I just could not figure out how to keep is a secret and get her the day off work she will need to take and know what to pack for her. So to simplify that end of this project I have told her we will be going.
She is very excited to be going. She wants to see all the places I use to go when growing up there and meet some of the extended family she has not met yet, nor have I seen in many years.
I want to take her shopping for some new holiday outfits. I know she will like that and any way since we will be announcing our engagement to everyone this holiday I know she will want to look especially good to make a good impression.
The room I reserved will over looks Lake Michigan, a beautiful and romantic view. I am going to propose the Saturday night we are there and have arranged with the hotel for a special dinner to be brought to our room that evening.
This will be a very special weekend and in a city that is very special and beautiful to me. I cannot think of a better way to begin the holiday season with Chicago and a proposal.
